As head of the School of Sustainability, Dr. Kumar leads visionary initiatives focused on solving global challenges in sustainability through multidisciplinary research, fostering collaboration across science, technology, and policy. His research on natural gas hydrates, carbon dioxide capture, methane, and hydrogen storage materials, and hydrothermal biofuel production has established him as a global authority in both industrial and academic spheres.
